Jill Stein Forces the “Media” to Talk about Dakota Access Pipeline vs. Standing Rock Sioux

Let's hear it for Jill Stein.  She got herself arrested at the Standing Rock Sioux protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline, thereby forcing the mainstream media to reluctantly acknowledge what millions of us are already fuming about.

Of course the coverage is pretty lame totally sanitized and corporate-approved for public consumption.

Here's the corporate/mainstream version.

And here's a more accurate example.

But it was still poetic to see the corporate media squirm and grimace while grudgingly talking about an issue that they were hoping would go away if they kept ignoring it.  It can't hurt to have this crisis brought into millions of living rooms.  It's a start, hopefully.

And the irony is too much.  Armed thugs hired by Dakota Access (with the tacit approval of the government and local law enforcement) come storming into the protest site, siccing attack dogs on protesters and using bulldozers to destroy Native Americans' ancestral burial grounds perfectly legal.

Jill Stein spray-paints a message on the side of a bulldozer charged with trespassing and vandalism.

[sigh]

Are Trump or Clinton even talking about this? If so, I haven't seen it.

Jerry: I doubt it. Hillary's totally in bed with the fossil fuel syndicate, so she's probably hoping this crisis will go away so she doesn't have to take a stand. Trump would probably just make a bunch of insulting gestures and phrases about Native Americans and tell us we need the oil.

It's me again, that asked several posts ago about that dildo of a city council schmuck in Port Angeles. Do you have any more info about that pervert? I used to live in Port Angeles back in the '90s, and for some reason I'm really intrigued by how such a douche nozzle could get elected to public office.

Anonymous: Here's the website of the Port Angeles paper. Go to the search menu and type in "Max Mania resigns." Some links will come up, but none of them work.

Or you can check out this site for more information.

Whatever happened to Tribal Sovereignty or are they ripping up another treaty?

Erik: Most of those treaties are about as reliable as Joe Isuzu's TV ads. I hope the nationwide, even global, publicity will put more pressure on the pipeline company and North Dakota's Teanderthal governor. For now, the Obama administration has the pipeline construction on hold, but this is only temporary.
