It is the democrats who have evolved. The republicans have always been and continue to be "conceived in bigotry..."

Truer words were never spoken! The Republiscum like to call themselves "the party of Lincoln" conveniently forgetting that the Republicans of the 1860s became the Democratic party we have today. This is a well-known, well-documented shift that took place after the Civil War.

Lincoln would be turning in his grave, as would all of our Founding Fathers, at what has become of a once-rational group of people. They have cherry-picked from the Constitution, and of course from the Bible, and the result is the zoo we see each time the Republican candidates take the stage.

If it was so infuriating, it'd be funny.

Jerry: It's hard to tell if Republicans are just standing still or if they're actually going backwards. Either way, they've long outlived any purpose they might have once had.

SM: Republicans are still the Party of Lincoln, only now it's George Lincoln Rockwell's party. I still find the whole thing funny, in that sick sort of way, but if oney of those Teanderthal shitbags actually gets into the White House, I sure as hell won't be laughing.

I've been watching to see whom out there remembers that in 1964, the KKK marched into Downtown San Francisco (of all places) in support of Barry Goldwater. The lesson learned was to get the White Supremacist support without actually acknowledging where it came from. It has worked for the Republicans all these years. Willie Horton?

The other Candidates are now talking about uniting people, problem is they're doing it in front of their usual all white bases. Paul Ryan brought up the old "Party of Lincoln" line which usually only gets used when a Republican manages to make a speech to an African American organization otherwise forget it.

You have to believe when Ryan said it, half the party elite were holding in the laughter while the other half was running to the bathroom to throw up!

Erik: I didn't know about the 1964 KKK march in San Francisco; or maybe it wasn't covered by the media in the northeast where I'm from.

I also didn't know whether to laugh or cry or smash something when I read Paul Ryan's speech. I don't remember the exact wording, but something like "Racism? Preying on people's fears and prejudices? That is NOT what the GOP stands for."

Puhleeze!

Let us not forget. The "Party of Lincoln" is not called the Democratic Party.

"Not" is suppose to be "now".

Jerry: I knew what you meant. Sometime in the 1960s the "Party of Lincoln" mutated into the gang of corporate-funded useful idiots that we've all come to know and love. It's time for the GOP to either relabel itself to a more accurate name, or else just implode.
