The Party of George Lincoln Rockwell

This is beginning to scare me as it may actually work in the Republican's advantage. As I hear very few in the media getting to meat of this matter like how the GOP has driven out people of color and immigrants over the decades. Trumps manner of extremism may isolate him from the rest of the "casual racist as usual". In other words, the rest of the party may come out looking like nice people and will NEVER have to do a thing to earn it.

Like denounce their anti-civil rights platforms, quit supporting suppression of voting rights etc., They can talk about being "Unifiers" while still giving their white supremacist/dixiecrat base a wink.

This is even scarier

Erik: So if I'm understanding you correctly, you're afraid the rest of the GOP could play the "Good Cop" to Trump's "Bad Cop." That's a valid fear, but I still think Trump is going to drag down the entire party while all the GOP splinter groups turn on each other with increasing hatred and venom. Maybe I'm just too optimistic.

Come on, Tom.

You're never that optimistic.

And I agree with you.

It's a long long way to Convention City.

Love ya.

Hoping for the best as we descend into the rest of the campaign mire.

Cirze: Thanks. I certainly hope the GOP civil war will be good for the rest of the country, while the different GOP factions continue to annihilate each other.

Picking up on your latest brilliant I.Q. test meme, I'm thinking that the rest of the world sees the US as a bare 100 - making them feel superior again. As superior as they did when Dumbya stole both elections from the smartest folks on earth (according to US - the Dems).

And that was the "dumb" Republicans.

As they tear the Republican Party asunder I can only cringe at the thought of what they want to replace it with.

And as it seems they get what they want (and they have the judges in place to guarantee it), we can only hope that their wants are not fatal to the rest of us.

Take care.

Cirze: I think 100 is much too high an estimate. I think the rest of the world sees America as a big strong quick-tempered dumbfuck who's easy to manipulate. Most countries are afraid of us -- "us" meaning the corporate thugs (funded by our tax dollars) who treat the rest of the world as their own personal chess board. A few exceptions -- e.g. Israel -- have learned how to manipulate and control the 800-pound gorilla.
