Hold Your Arms Up in the “Hands Up, Don't Shoot” Pose — Go To Prison

Leading up to yesterday's NFL game, five players for the St. Louis Rams entered the field with their arms held up in the I surrender! Don't Shoot! position.  I thought it was funny when I saw it on the news last night.  But the St. Louis Police Officers Association was not amused, and is demanding that the NFL discipline those five uppity nigras and put 'em back in their place.  Their statement said:

“The SLPOA is calling for the players involved to be disciplined and for the Rams and the NFL to deliver a very public apology.”

Uh oh — these guys have guns, and as we know, they're not afraid to use them.

The SLPOA's business manager is Jeff Roorda, a former police officer who valiantly fought against the idea of police officers wearing body cameras.  He's also a former state legislator who tried to pass legislation that would keep the names of police officers secret when they've been involved in a shooting.  Get a traffic ticket and your name goes in the paper.  Shoot somebody —ssssshhhhh!!!

Jeff Roorda also threatened a boycott of the NFL by trigger-happy rogue cops and their supporters:

“I’d remind the NFL and their players that it is not the violent thugs burning down buildings that buy their advertiser’s products.  It’s cops and the good people of St. Louis and other NFL towns that do. Somebody needs to throw a flag on this play. If it’s not the NFL and the Rams, then it’ll be cops and their supporters.”

Right.  All three of them.

this went to the grand jury and it showed the witness who said his hands were up was proven to have lied.
What was the other choice, take a chance of the 300 lb "child" charging you and have a brawl in the hopes he doesn't go for your gun.....again?

Anonymous: My post was about the St. Louis police officers' union getting their panties in a bunch, not the grand jury verdict.

Jim: No doubt the NFL is quaking in their boots.

And they shoul because they are ln national TV perpertrating a lie. The being MB was shot with his hands up .
The facts don't seem to matter, the lie just keeps getting repeated.
But the lie about the ACA that the president told us is no big deal . Gruber was right,Americans are stupid and easily deceived. And he means Obama voters, yet the media is mum.

If Darren Wilson had been wearing a body camera, we'd all know exactly what happened when he had his encounter with Michael Brown. The head of the police officers union fought against the idea of body cameras for police officers on duty. Go figure.

A year ago I believe it was members of the Phoenix Suns came out in Hoodies in honor of Travon Martin and nothing happened to them. Many of the Ownership of the Major Leagues are far right Republicans, supporting ALEC, Fundamentalist Christian Causes and making their players make patches, appear for events and fundraisers for Republican Candidates.

Now the Players (Black Players number over 70% of both the NBA and NFL) want to express their views and the League shouldn't talk - especially considering as Black Men, chances are they have experienced bias from the Police ....and many of them are over 300 pounds.

Reminds me that for Decades the Dallas Cowboys used to train in California instead of Texas because they knew that because of Segregation their black players were limited to neighborhoods miles away from camp and they have problems driving through town, let alone stop for gas or use the bathroom without being hassled by the local cops.

Without the video, Rodney King was just a thug who resisted arrest!

Erik: I heard a TV newscast last night where an NFL spokesman was defending the players' First Amendment rights and saying there would be no action against the players. The newscast didn't mention anything about the rednecks in the St. Louis police officers' association; just a vague reference to "criticism" the players had received.

I didn't know that about the Cowboys practicing in California, but it makes sense.
