Three Cheers for Rightwing Talk Radio

Seriously.

Yes, we know rightwing talk radio is nothing but a few twisted demagogues preaching to an inbred choir.  But there’s a bright side:  Talk radio is hurting the Republican Party.

GOP strategist Frank Luntz spoke to a group of college Republicans about the problems caused by the tsunami of radio bilge:

“And they get great ratings, and they drive the message, and it's really problematic.”

He was particularly concerned about Marco Rubio’s immigration reform efforts being sabotaged by rightwing spewfucks:

“He's getting destroyed by Mark Levin, by Rush Limbaugh, and a few others. He's trying to find a legitimate, long-term effective solution to immigration that isn't the traditional Republican approach, and talk radio is killing him. That's what's causing this thing underneath. And too many politicians in Washington are playing coy.”

All right!!!  Let the GOP civil war heat up and up and up.  Fan the flames!

You all may remember when Micheal Steele tried to convince the rest of the world that Rush Limbaugh didn't run the Republican Party, they forced him to crawl and apologize to him.

I remember when one freshman class of Republican Congressmen had to hear a mandatory lecture from Limbaugh on how to be a true Conservative.

Now I'm waiting for Limbaugh to slam this guy and make him humble!

Just two days ago they were complaining that there are too many left leaning media outlets, now this. Infighting is funny, when it's the other side isn't it? I'm with Eric though, Luntz is going to have to kiss some massive Rimjob ass for this heresy.

Erik: Frank Luntz isn't a public figure like Michael Steele was; he's more of a behind-the-scenes operator. I don't know if he'd be intimidated by Limbaugh and the other gasbags or not. But I always love to see a slugfest between Republicans. You never know, maybe there'll be one.

Jess: I'm sure enjoying all the GOP infighting.

"Massive Rimjob ass" -- uh oh, I'm getting a vision.
