The Campaign

I had already added this movie to my NetFlix queue, after just seeing a brief description.  It’s a spoof on well-funded sleazy political campaigns.  But there’s more:  Dan Aykroyd and John Lithgow play the slippery billionaire Motch brothers (three guesses), who are financing the congressional campaign of their empty suit candidate.  Zach Galifianakis and Will Ferrell are the two rival candidates.

And the real life Koch brothers are upset by the movie.  They’ve already purchased the government, but they still don’t have enough money or influence to stop Hollywood from mimicking them.  Not yet anyway.  However, if any of the above-mentioned actors should have a mysterious “accident”…

Koch Industries’ PR hooker, Phillip Ellender, said:

“We disagree with his uninformed characterization of Koch and our beliefs. His comments, which appear to be based on false attacks made by our political opponents, demonstrate a lack of understanding of our longstanding support of individual freedom, freedom of expression, and constitutional rights.”

Cry all the way to the bank, Kochsucker.

Stop it you bastards! If you get the Koch brothers mad, they'll stop funding my favorite Science programs on PBS!

Boo hoo. You never hear these idiots cry when movies like Undeafeated starring Snow Snooki are made.

The Klanservative Klanbagging Kochsuckers don't know any "humor" outside of Dennis Miller, so they'll stay true.

Dan Aykroyd is still alive?

Only saw a small slice of this in a movie promo. I have to wonder how they'll spin the scene where Will Farrell punches a baby. I can just hear Rush Limpballs saying "the baby had it coming".

Erik: It doesn't matter; PBS will soon be eliminated by President Romney.

Jess: Except nobody watches Sarah Palin's movies. The Campaign should be a blockbuster. I hope, anyway.

JR: I haven't heard any of Dennis Miller's comedy since SNL, but I know he's veered way to the right.

Randal: Believe it or not.

Demeur: I haven't even seen any previews. I'll have to look for that.

I don't know, Demeur... Rush will probably spin it along something like a "Liberals hate babies" line.

I'm looking forward to seeing the movie. Will Ferrell is hit-and-miss, but here and there he's in a very good movie. This one looks promising, anyway! And yes, it will be lots of fun to hear all the right-wing pundits who never bothered to go to the movie crying about how the mean old heartless liberals are persecuting people and beating up on them.

Snave: I always found Will Ferrell to be the least funny SNL member (IMHO), but I'm still looking forward to the movie. If a multi-billion dollar corporation is threatened by a movie, that's enough for me.
