Scott Walker Admits: “I Just Wanted to Crush Unions. The Budget Deficit Had Nothing to Do With It.”

Everyone has been saying this for months. But this time it’s straight out of Governor Scott Walker’s Koch-cum-infested mouth.

Scott Walker testified today before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. Dennis Kucinich (D—Ohio) asked Walker some pointed questions about his Stomp-The-Unions agenda. Part of Wisconsin’s anti-union law requires union members to vote every year on whether the union should continue to exist. Kucinich asked Walker how much taxpayer money would be saved by this provision. Walker squirmed and twisted and spluttered and finally admitted — None.

Next, Walker was asked how much tax money would be saved by preventing union dues from being taken out of employees’ paychecks (another provision in Walker’s law). Walker said it would save money for the union members — aww, shucks, how nice of him to care — but he couldn’t say how it would save any taxpayers’ money.

Next, Kucinich produced a document from the Wisconsin Legislative Fiscal Bureau which stated that Walker’s anti-union laws were non-fiscal — no impact on the budget one way or the other. Kucinich requested that this official document be included in the public record, but his request was denied by Chairman Darrell Issa (R—Car Thief).

So much for Walker calling his union-busting law a “budget repair bill,” and his constant rhetoric about “we have a budget crisis!” “Wisconsin is broke!”

Lying sack of pus.

Walker is a lying Republican pylonoidal cyst.

As if his original motives were not transparent enough... now there is some nice proof that his agenda has never really been about saving money for taxpayers.

What a shame that a Democrat was not leading the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

It is time for investigations in Wisconsin, and because it could be an important state in which the left could gain some House seats back 18 months from now, this stuff all needs to stay as perpetually in the news as possible.

I hope Walker's revealing responses to fair questions at that hearing wind up in TV ads when the recall campaign to unseat him is under way. If any Wisconsin voters still don't appreciate what a mean-spirited, crackpot ideologue and overambitious twit he is, rerunning his testimony should convince them.

Total waste of flesh and bone, IMO.

I'm glad the Pharaoh admitted it publicly. Now I'll be even happier if the milquetoast dems actually do something with it. The Pharaoh is a wonderful poster boy.

Snave: We definitely need to keep Walker and the other Kochsuckers in the spotlight for the next 18 months. The "news" media won't be bothered, so it's up to bloggers and "alternative" news sites.

SW: The Democrats definitely need to flood the airwaves with shots of Walker squirming and lying and finally admitting that the budget had nothing to do with his union-busting. The voters need to see in no uncertain terms "what a mean-spirited, crackpot ideologue and overambitious twit he is."

JR: The Democrats definitely need to get out of Milquetoast mode.

Randal: LOL, "I must break you."

Here's a link to a pdf copy of the letter from the Wisconsin Legislative Fiscal Bureau that Dennis Kucinich asked to be entered into the record. A point of clarification: Issa said he'd consider doing so (once it was verified), without refusing to do so outright during the hearing. I haven't yet been able to verify that it has actually been introduced into the record, though.
