Who Hijacked Our Country

Wisconsin Senator Van Wanggaard: “Help! There’s a Protester Outside! MOMMY!?!?!?!?!?!”

Wisconsin State Senator Van H. Wanggaard is one of the Republicans who voted for Scott Walker’s bill to cripple labor unions. Wanggaard’s house was picketed sometime during the three weeks of anti-Walker demonstrations.

In response, Wanggaard is introducing a state law to prohibit demonstrations in front of private homes. Talk about suppressing a symptom instead of dealing with the underlying problem. This is kind of like putting masking tape over the dashboard so you won’t have to be bothered by that flashing red warning light.

Wanggaard sobbed to the Racine Journal Times:

“When they come to my house it's intimidating and threatening.”

Well guess what, Dickwipe — when you vote for a law that pulls the rug out from under hundreds of thousands of working people, some of those people might express their anger. If you can’t take the heat, get the fuck out of the kitchen.

And speaking of public feedback: Congressional Republicans are getting some angry responses when they — rarely — step out of their sheltered world of limousines and boardrooms and visit the unwashed masses.

When Congress is in session, they can sit there jacking each other off with “Yeah, let’s cut spending even further.” “A safety net? Job training? Cut it!” “My re-election was financed by a billionaire and he says he can’t purchase the next election for me unless he gets another tax cut.”

Two House Republicans who voted for the current package of spending cuts — Sean Duffy and Reid Ribble — got an earful when they stepped out of their bubble and talked to their constituents. The spending cuts include local job training programs, which will have disastrous consequences in their own districts. The CEO of the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board said:

“There needs to be some understanding of the programs being cut and their impact on an economy that's trying to recover and create jobs. They say they're hearing us, but I guess we'll know when the vote comes.”

Riiight. Send them a 6-figure campaign contribution and they’ll hear you just fine.

Jesus, how can they expect people not to protest or even react?

That won't get far because it's unconstitutional on its face. As long as the protesters are on the sidewalk or public street, not obstructing traffic or creating a disturbance — just carrying signs, for example — they're exercising their rights of free speech and peaceful assembly.

Wanggaard doen't need a law, he needs a remedial course in ninth-grade social studies. What.A.Dipstick.

Let us remember that it was the reactionary Wisconsin Republican Party which produced that other worthless, overreaching self-centered politician, Joseph McCarthy - another asshole who had no respect for the Constitution either.

Has anyone had the water tested in these districts. I mean someone voted for these ass clowns. Is this the guy who called the demonstrators slobs? If so he's lucky he wasn't crucified. (What to Jewish)

I wonder if and when this will ever end. The voters elected these idiots. Do we thing they know it?

Rushpubliscums don't have much use for "free speech" except when they can load up buses with armed blue haired racists and send them off to menace peaceful protesters and town hall meetings.

J., I think they don't expect people to protest or react... these guys are so arrogant that they just expect people to roll over.

This guy doing the complaining is more than likely a Tea Partier, and if he is in line with what Sharron Angle says, maybe he can use his own "Second Amendment remedy", if need be. He probably has a firearm or two, and if anyone gets aggressive, he can defend himself. He has that right, but the legislation he is proposing would never fly (even though his buddies will probably vote unanimously in favor of it... they are like an exclusive club, after all).

Fascists cannot tolerate any dissent. Period. It's good to see it up close in their face. I'm sure there will be efforts to block that "Cashless Mob" type of free speech.

J: They've been in their little bubble so long, they forget there are real people out there.

SW: You're right, a "remedial course in ninth grade social studies" is exactly what that dipstick needs.

Jack: Joseph McCarthy must be smiling from his grave.

Tim: LOL, God knows what's in their water.

Michael: I too wonder when this will end. Every day there's another headline more infuriating than the previous day's news.

JR: LOL, teabaggers' hearts warm at the thought of "buses with armed blue haired racists." That's what Freedom is all about.

Snave: I don't think that law would be constitutional. Some towns have ordinances like that, but I don't think it could be done at the state level.

Dave: That's true, their mindset can't tolerate any sort of disagreement or even questioning.

Mr. Harper: Your profile says that you reside in the State of Washington. Unless you'd like to move to Wisconsin, I suggest you keep your thoughts to yourself. We can handle our own affairs just fine without you outsiders sticking your noses in. And it always amazes me when I see the nastiness and profanity that people spit out when hiding behind an internet blog or chat forum. I makes me wonder if they would be as vitriolic if they were standing in front of whomever they were speaking about.

DDD: Thanks for your offer, but I like living here in Washington. But Wisconsin is nice too. I've only seen the northern part of the state; drove across on Route 2 a few years ago.

In answer to your question, I'd be glad to tell your friend Van Waaaaaahhhhhgaard or whatever his name is everything to his face that I said in this post. If he hides inside his house cowering when people are picketing outside, he must be one badass dude.
