Republicans: “The Party of Jobs”

Job DESTRUCTION, that is. “Hey, we didn’t say anything about ‘creating jobs’ — we just said ‘jobs.’ Gotcha!”

It’s bad enough the Republicans have not created a single new job since they took over the House. Now on top of that, they’re planning to eliminate 700,000 jobs.

And who’s the moonbat socialist who came up with this leftwing propaganda? Fuzzy math, right?

Sorry, rightwads — this is from Mark Zandi, chief economist for Moody’s Analytics. Mark Zandi was also on John McCain’s economic team during the 2008 election campaign. Zandi had some dire news about the GOP’s spending cuts:

“The House Republicans' proposal would reduce 2011 real GDP growth by 0.5% and 2012 growth by 0.2%. This would mean some 400,000 fewer jobs created by the end of 2011 and 700,000 fewer jobs by the end of 2012...Significant government spending restraint is vital, but given the economy's halting recovery, it would be counterproductive for that restraint to begin until the U.S. is creating enough jobs to lower the unemployment rate…Imposing additional government spending cuts before this has happened, as House Republicans want, would be taking an unnecessary chance with the recovery.”

A report from Goldman-Sachs, leaked last week, was even more alarming: the GOP’s budget cuts would reduce second- and third-quarter growth this year by 1.5 to 2 percentage points.

How’s this “party of jobs” thingy workin‘ out for ya?

The only jobs congressional Republicans worry about are their own. Anyone watching their actions can't be mistaken about that.

Oh wait, there is one other job Republicans are concerned about. They want one of their own to become president.

Considering how things went for them in November, Republicans don't even see a jobs problem. After all, they did all right. As for the middle class, they're on their own.

Thankfully, Pharaoh Walker, Czar Kashitch I, and Shah Scott have revealed to the country what the Rushpubliscum Party is all about. Hopefully people will keep this in mind as we head into 2012.

Oh you, funny guy, just are not looking at what jobs they have created though. I can always count on ewe leetist libruls to be half glass full types of people ;)

They now will have jobs helping give horses birth control, in some states where even the women can't get it.

The new prosecutor for DOMA, HELLO a job isn't it? Some states are looking into miscarriage/check womens uterus police positions. See, I just gave you something positive to ponder on didn't I? Will you retract the whole, republicans are not creating jobs post, no you won't will you? It's this kind of shoddy reporting that gets you the label liberal media. Oh wait, yer a blog here, oh then carry on.

Go with me on this one...

Do you suppose the house is doing all this draconian cuts KNOWING the Senate ain't going for it just so they can tell the Teaparty they tried?
But "Stick with us, and we'll do it next election!"

Sorta like what the GOP does here in California, come back to their home districts bawling "those lib'rels, wont let us cut none of yo texas!" but carrying a huge bucket of pork with them.

Do you think?

jadedj: It's hard to keep up with. I don't know why I even want to.

SW: Yup, their own jobs, and their huge bribes from lobbyists -- that's all that matters.

JR: I hope this will derail them in 2012. Then again, 2 years ago I had no idea the wingtards would make such huge gains in 2010.

Carlos: They need a damn good waxing, that's for sure.

Randal: Cool, maybe you can bust a few demonstrators and potheads.

Jess: You're right, I didn't think of that. A prosecutor to crack down on them homasexials. And if we invade Libya that'll create a few more executive positions for Halliburton and Blackwater.

Anon.: Snowjobs and blowjobs, that's all they're good for.

Erik: That's exactly what they're doing, getting their "base" all riled up so they'll vote again in 2012.

The Republicans sure do enjoy using anger as a means to sway people to vote for them. But making cuts that would eliminate almost three quarters of a million jobs? Heh... I don't know how they would be able to put a positive spin on the massive anger THAT would create. I wouldn't put it past them to get the job done, though. They have spun so much garbage out of whole cloth, and millions of Americans have bought that garbage, viewing it as something valuable.

I can hear it now, the coming refrain for the next few years:

"Obama made us do it!"

For as many of them who like to broadcast their Christianity for all the world to see, they sure do love to serve Mammon. Keeping their jobs means lots more Mammon for them to serve! But if they push things too far, I believe it will backfire on them in a huge way. They don't give a hoot about jobs. They are more concerned with things like defunding public broadcasting or getting rid of Obama's teleprompter.

I believe there is great potential for the GOP to fail magnificently in 2012, because I believe that for the most part Americans care about each other, we want our elected "leaders" to work together to create solutions that help our country, and many of us want things done in moderation. We aren't seeing much of that from either side of the political aisle right now, but at least the president is making attempts to work with these Republican jokers.

He will cave to them a bit on a few things, but not on the most important things. He will do it in creative ways that don't totally sell out the left, and in many cases he will make the GOP believe that some of the measures taken were their idea rather than his. I think this is one sign that he is a good leader.

Snave: If the Republicans couldn't push the anger and fear buttons, nobody would ever vote for them.

It looks to me like they've way overplayed their hand and are reading in too many things that "the American People" supposedly want. I hope they crash and burn in 2012, but then 2 years ago I would have sworn the party was about to go extinct.

Jack: Good description.
