Brazil to U.S.: “I’m Not Your Houseboy Any More”

For generations, our Latin American colonies did exactly what we told them to do, when we told them to do it — if they knew what was good for them. This was God’s Will.

But now some of these natives are getting all uppity on us.

How can we build Coalition of the Willing 2.0 — or would that be Son of Coalition of the Willing — if them darkies won’t yell “How high, Sir?” when we yell “Jump!”

Hillary Clinton was in Brazil, trying to drum up support for international sanctions against Iran. But Brazil wasn’t bending over this time. Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said:

“It is not prudent to push Iran against a wall. The prudent thing is to establish negotiations.”

Brazil is a voting member of the U.N. Security Council, so it was important for Clinton to whip up the proper hysteria against those crazy Muslims. But Silva responded to Clinton with:

“I want for Iran the same thing I want for Brazil: to use the development of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. If Iran agrees with that, Iran will have the support of Brazil.”

In other words — Appeasement. Negotiating with terrorists!

Well, Plan A didn’t work. Now we move to Plan B: Iran has Weapons of Mass Destruction! Iran has close ties with Osama bin Laden! Most of the 9/11 hijackers were from Iran!

American Presidents have been treating Central and South American Countries like Doormats for over a 100 years. Teddy Roosevelt was probably the worse (among other things stealing Panama) up to Iran/Contra, and the Invasions of Nicaragua and Panama Uninvited.

Annexing Central and South America has been on the map in various administrations (even the Confederates were going to do it if they won the Civil War) and the Latin Americans know it no wonder why they hate us.

Anti Immigration isn't helping any

I hoped I'd never have to say this with a Democrat in the White House and a majority in Congress, but watch out Iran, the military industrial complex is out to get ya.

Now if only the US would tell Israel it won't be it's bitch anymore, we'd be all set.

Erik: Just using the term facetiously. Yup, Teddy Roosevelt was a big offender, and I think it was FDR that referred to Nicaragua's rightwing dictator as "he's a son of a bitch, but he's OUR son of a bitch." We've definitely treated Latin America as our own doormat for too long.

Holte: Or to put it another way, "meet the new boss, same as the old boss."

Lew: That's something to hope for but it'll never happen. We'll always be Israel's bitch.

I can tell you, I am about sick of us putting our nose where it does not belong. So we here can have that nuclear power with no strings but hey, if you want it you have to play by our rules. Last time I checked, watch out here comes the DFH hates America part of our evening****, we were part of a world not the end all and be all of it. Good for Brazil for sticking to their guns on this. Lew, too many in the AIPAC lobby for that to happen.

**** this is for the winger that will come accuse me of hating America, because I want us to be held to the same standard everyone else is. Just to make myself clear, I do not hate America, just some of the things done by our government.

Jess: You've got it -- we're part of the world, not the be all and end all of it. And the Neanderthal community just can't stand to admit that; or they can't grasp it, or something.

Plus, South America harbored all those Nazis and since all Nazis came from Iran, well, you know what we have to do.

Randal: Yup, we know what we have to do, and that begins with drafting everybody under 70.

Brazil better watch out. Pretty soon they'll find themselves right behind Venezuela on our Operation South American Freedom campaign.

Dave: Yup, we'll be greeted as liberators, and throngs of grateful Brazilians will shower our soldiers with flowers and ice cream.
