Warning To All “Family Values” Windbags

Are you sick to death of all these loudmouth hustlers spewing “Family Values” and “What Would Jesus Do?” You know the type: human life is sacred from the point of conception to the moment of birth. Bill Clinton needed to be impeached because of his immoral behavior, and George W. Bush has restored honor and integrity to the White House. Etc. Well, help is on the way. The great playing-field leveler — our favorite hypocrite vanquisher — has arisen and he's madder than ever.

Larry Flynt is ready to start yanking these two-faced Biblehumping sinners out from under their rocks and exposing them to the American people. His first casualty so far is part-time Biblespouter / part-time sex fiend David Vitter, the disgraced Republican Senator from Louisiana. What, you thought Vitter suddenly saw the light and developed a conscience and decided to confess and cleanse his sins? Vitter developed his Christian decency and open-ness after Flynt contacted him and told him he had phone records linking him to that infamous prostitution ring.

Flynt said “I don't want a man like that legislating for me, especially in the areas of morality.” That’s exactly right. If you're gonna thump the Bible you have to practice it too. It was Flynt who exposed Newt Gingrich as a two-faced Biblespewing homewrecker and also derailed Gingrich’s would-be successor (does anybody even remember that sleazebag's name?) on the same grounds. And now, after six years of having our country dominated by a bunch of Torquemada wannabes, the great hypocrite vanquisher has a lot more work to do.

Flynt says “We've got 20-some investigations that all look good. We have got some high-ranking Republican and Democratic members of the Senate and the House. If I get just a couple of those phonies out of there, maybe it will be a step forward.” He also said “This is payback time. I'm not exposing anyone's sex life. ... I'm only exposing the hypocrisy.”

It’s a dirty job but somebody’s gotta do it. You go Larry.

Flynt has more guts and integrity than the entire Congress and the media as well.

The more he exposes, the merrier.

I can't say I think the names he releases will all be Republicans, but I think a large majority of them will be. If releases 20 names, I'm betting 15 of them will be Republicans. I believe this because it seems that many more Republicans than Dems are of the faith-professing "family values"-spewing ilk. And from what Flynt says, I think he would be more likely to expose those whom he thought were the most hypocritical.

If Democrats were exposed for hypocrisy I think it would be more likely be something like getting caught taking money from big corporations after talking about a need for campaign finance reform, than it would be for getting named on a madam's list.

Many Republican politicians are already showing they are hypocrites for saying they don't like the Iraq war but continuing to vote in favor of it. They make themselves easy targets when they do such things, and when they go spouting their vomitous religious pronouncements and when they voice their support for what they call "family values", they set themselves up for greater scrutiny re. their personal lives. So, why wouldn't Flynt end up exposing more Republicans than Democrats?

Anyway, I think that whoever he exposes needs to get out of the way so they can be replaced by people who might actually be concerned with doing our nation's business.

I agree, you go, Larry. I think he's a guy who actually does love America, unlike many of those he will likely expose.

Larry: I think you're right. It's ironic that a pornographer who everybody looks down on turns out to have more integrity than Congress and the media.

Snave: Yeah, I'd guess Flynt will smoke out more Republicans than Democrats. I'm glad he isn't singling out just one party, but Republicans are generally more two-faced about these "morality" issues; "do as I say, not as I do."

Democrats are just as likely as Republicans to be having affairs, visiting prostitutes, etc., but most of them aren't waving the Bible in everyone's face at the same time. The more of these two-faced assholes that Flynt can smoke out, the better.

Yeah these hypocrites give new creedence to the expression, "you can't judge a book by it's cover". They all attempt to portray themselves as bibles, but when you open the cover you find porn. I hate people who attempt to moralize to others all the while breaking every commandment they can think of, now that's disgusting. By the way Tom I gave you an award, so drop by my blog when you have a chance and check it out.

It was Bob Livingston that got shit canned as Speaker after Newt thanks to Flynt's work:

"During the Monica Lewinsky scandals, Livingston was one of many Republicans who demanded Clinton's resignation, and later impeachment, for perjury. After Newt Gingrich resigned as Speaker in part because of Republican losses in the 1998 elections, Livingston announced that he was not only running for Speaker but had lined up enough support to win. He was nominated as the Republican candidate for Speaker without opposition. As the Republicans had narrowly retained their majority, this effectively made him Speaker-elect.

[edit] Resignation
During the Clinton impeachment scandal, Hustler Magazine publisher Larry Flynt placed an article in his magazine offering up to $1,000,000 for information on sexual indiscretions by Republican officials. Flynt received evidence that Livingston had strayed outside of his marriage and he was preparing to publish this information. Livingston got word that the article was pending. During debate over the impeachment resolution on December 19, 1998, Livingston surprised everyone by stepping down as Speaker-elect and announced he would resign from the House in May 1999. He was succeeded by David Vitter, who later went on to become the first popularly elected Republican senator from Louisiana. Vitter defeated Treen in a hard-fought special election runoff. In 2007, Vitter was revealed to have used escorts working for Deborah Jeane Palfrey."

Leo: That's a good analogy; they're pretending to be Bibles but when you open the cover there's porn inside. We need somebody like Larry Flynt to flap open these books so everyone can see the filth inside.

Thank you very much for the award. Appreciate it.

PoliShifter: Bob Livingston, that was it. Talk about "where are they now" -- that guy must have fallen off the edge of the Earth after Flynt outed him. Thanks for the information. I didn't know it was Vitter who replaced Livingston after he stepped down. Small world.

hi Tom

I would not be surprised to learn that Bob Livingston has a cush job on K-Street as a lobbyist for the frickin porn industry.

From the same Wiki entry:

"Soon after retiring from public life he founded The Livingston Group, one of many lobbying groups in the nation's capital."

Here are the companies he represents:

No matter how many times the Conservatives get their clocks cleaned on getting caught with their pants down (yes pun intended) they keep it up like fox news is never going to report them or something.

When I was a kid I used to wish for a list of every name of a person whose had an abortion or seen a Hooker. With the hope it would open honest dialog on these issues (because we all know there would be plenty of conservatives in there)

I see they are working franticly on the DC Madam's phonelist and I predict of lot more heads will roll on this one.

Kudo's to Larry Flint who started this in during the impeachment trials and is really taking this full bore. Who's the sleezebag now eh?

Reminds me of an 60 minutes interview done over 30 years ago where Mike Wallace asked insider columnist like Jack Anderson (do we need him today) Why they never reported on the politicians who show up drunk, chase Hookers, score drugs etc., He and the others replied that they don't consider this news.

This is also why Marion Berry got such support from the people in Washington DC despite being caught on videotape smoking crack.

The residents of DC (most of them black) see this going on all the time (drugs, sex, etc.,) with Washington Politicians and asked why no one video tapes them?

They saw the congress and the others as Hypocrites and their re-electing Berry was a protest vote.

I think a lot of names will be Republicans, myself. Methink they doth protest too much about "morals" and "values". in the meantime, rock on Larry Flynt!

Erik: Yeah, you'd think conservatives would learn something after enough of them have been outed. I guess when somebody has enough wealth and power they think they'll be shielded from public opinion or any sort of consequences. We need someone like Larry Flynt to remind them otherwise.

Ordinarily I don't think somebody's personal life should be in the news, except in cases like this where the person has been preaching about "morals" and giving support to the Pat Robertsons and James Dobsons. If Cindy Sheehan turned out to be a major stockholder in Halliburton, you can be sure Fox News would be all over it 24/7.

Mile High Pixie: Yes, definitely they doth protest too much. Larry is serving a valuable purpose here.

Actually from what I understand Fox and the talk show host dug up every bit of dirt on her they could even posting her divorce papers when her husband files

Erik: That's exactly it. The Right tries to pretend it's irrelevant when conservatives turn out to actually live 180 degrees apart from the platitudes they're always preaching. But you know they'd be screaming from the roof if Cindy Sheehan was a Halliburton stockholder, or if the president of the Sierra Club owned stock in Chevron.

The rightwing smear machine has definitely had a field day smearing Cindy Sheehan. You should see some of the wingnut blogs and how they shit all over her. They're so courageous.

Lizzy: Yup, I'm definitely looking forward to see who gets outed next.

I am still trying to figure out how Republicans still follow these types of people when they always in up with some type of immoral perverted act laying in the dark.

I guess you can say, to be a Republican representative mean you can never open his or her closet... not only will the skeleton fall out but every other type of bone possible.

Let's Talk: Yeah, I guess these rightwingers are slow learners in addition to being hypocrites. They must be on guard 24 hours a day trying to make sure they don't get caught contradicting one of their slogans. It seems to work for them most of the time, until somebody like Larry Flynt comes along and drags them out into the light of day.

He appears to be a freedom fighter, but Flynt is a turncoat who doesn't stand up for his own people. He has spoken out against Rob Black, a fellow pornographer who carries Flynts now limp torch.
It is very upseting when a Larry Flynt speaks against someone like Rob Black, who is fighting 10 charges of obcenity for making adult films, if he is actually convicted then who will be next - very short sighted.
Was it professional jealousy that led to the holocaust - I wonder.

TV is God: I've never heard of Rob Black. I don't really follow pornographers that much (honest!). Larry Flynt probably isn't being selfless or altruistic, but I'm still glad he's smoking out some of these 2-faced politicians who preach about Family Values while practicing something totally different.

Interesting blog; aptly named. If there really is a god, it's probably the TV set.

Once again, the Pinciples of Incompetence ( http://pov-mentarch1.blogspot.com/2007/06/eight-principles-of-incompetence.html ) explain it all. Whenever a "family values" windbag gets caught, this highlights the following Principles in action:

Zeroth Principle - incompetents are driven by intellectual sloth;

Second Principle - incompetents are morally and ethically impaired;

Fourth Principle - incompetents will do or say anything to defend themselves (e.g. "Lie and Cry").

;-)

Mentarch: That was a very good post; it explains a lot. That fourth principle seems to be the favorite of family-values types: sobbing and writhing in public after they've gotten caught.
