Oil Empire

This website is just too chilling and too troubling to ignore. Is it just a bunch of wacky conspiracy nuts, or is there some truth to it? The neocons (PNAC etc.), al Qaeda, the CIA, the oil industry and several Shiite and Sunni governments — are they all just one giant interconnected organization, manipulating the “events” of the world? Are the Terrorists and the War on Terror both on the same team, and just pretending to be at war with each other? A lot of people accuse the Democrats and Republicans of doing this — being the same party and just pretending to argue with each other — but these other accusations are a lot more far-reaching.

Was September 11th America’s version of the Reichstag fire?

Maybe liberals are too carried away with conspiracy theories. That’s what the rightwingers keep saying. And we should listen to them since they're so rational and level-headed, right?

The party that’s out of power is always more prone to farfetched theories and accusations. During Bill Clinton’s presidency we all had a good laugh over those paranoid survivalists and militia groups who kept blubbering about black helicopters and America being invaded by the United Nations. And don’t forget Bill Clinton murdered Vince Foster and then made it look like a suicide.

So is that what the Left is doing now — just making a bunch of sweeping accusations that can't be proven or disproven? We’ll probably never know. But that website sure is thought-provoking. I’d suggest bookmarking it; there's a lot of information there.

Whilst I think that this conspiracy is a load of shit, I do think the Left's attraction to conspiracy theories is based on a general cynicism of the government.

We know they're corrupt, profit-mongering warlords and so these nutjob theories make sense coming from these guys.

Bush & Co are there for profit and we know that in recent history, the Bush family has had dealings with the Bin Laden family and propped up other Islamist dictators to crush the secular Left in the Middle-East but I very much doubt they're clinically planning all of this behind the curtains.

Benjamin: Yeah, that sounds about right. There's so much secrecy and corruption going on, that people have a tendency to think it's one big conspiracy. It gets too easy to connect dots that aren't connected.

The way I figure it is: a conspiracy takes an incredible amount of planning and cooperation; putting the group above one's own interests. And I think the major players here -- oil companies, Arab sheiks, the Bush family -- are all too wrapped up in their own personal agendas to make any sacrifices for a larger group.

Prague Twin: You have to read the entire site. You'll be quizzed on it :)

Wow tom, I just mention you in my comment section about the last post you had on Oil and Iraq.

Now to find this-- what can we say about American citizen who sit back and allow this to happen.

Maybe we deserve this type of monster, this type of corruption.

Sweeping Accusations are waves of truth, hiding under lies and ignorance.

I think to a certain point Shrub enjoyed 9/11. WHY? Because it gave him a "reason" to invade Iraq and finish the job his Daddy started! Lying self-righteous Bastard!

Funkytown Fighter: Damn right Bush like 9/11. Whether he had a role in it or not, it sure has helped him out. Every time the Democrats try to stand up to him, all Bush has to do is say "9/11" and the opposition crumbles.

Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush, was laundering money for the Nazis. Roosevelt had stop Prescott 's banking deals with the Nazis and freeze the Bush profits from the scheme. The blood money profits were released in 1952 and became the foundation for the Bush Political Dynasty

The Bush's are well known backers of fascism. That is why they pander to dictators all over the world. Unfortunately, there are many on the neoconservative right who are directly involved in the "game to get more" money, power and control.

I do not think that it is one big conspiracy but a lot of smaller circlular selfish games that ripple into one - much like the effect after rocks are thrown into the water.

Kitchen Window Woman: I think you're right. It isn't one big conspiracy; it's a lot of smaller groups that each have their own agenda. To the extent that these agendas overlap, they "ripple into one" as you put it.

Well, I do agree that the Iraq invasion, and the possible coming war with Iran, are all about oil. The U.S. and the Saudis want to control it all, and need to keep the rest of the Middle East from supplying oil to China and Russia on their own terms.

I can't buy the al Qaeda-CIA-9/11 conspiracy theories, tho - just imagine what it would take to pull that off, not to mention sustaining something like that.

I'm going to stop thinking about who killed JFK, Martin Luther King Jr. and as to whether Pearl Harbor was planned to reply to this:

The Problem with conspiracies is that if true they are too frightening to believe, and you feel totally powerless and helpless so you don't want to believe it or you could be accused of feeling paranoid.

The Other problem is that they make too much sense.

Are we to believe that Yale Skull and Bones is a social club?

Or that the Trilateral Commission, Bohemian Grove, Bilderburg and others are just the rich and powerful getting together and party. "No we don't discuss politics, we just taste the latest Vintages!"

Then the truth came out about COINTELPRO which sounds like it's right out of a sorry spy novel, but it's true

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COINTELPRO

Then I read a book by a Charles Higham called "trading with the enemy" in which he uses Freedom of Information Act Government Documents and Interviews which shows full collaboration between American Industrialist, Government Officials and Nazi Germany. How Nazi Germany used stolen Gold to finance their war effort and how American Companies (like Ford) supplied Trucks to the end. It makes me wonder how we won the war, and one thing is for sure: It should have over years before and millions of people need not have died

http://www.thirdworldtraveler.com/Fascism/Trading_Enemy_Higham.html

The Right wing has the Turner Diaries.

Given all this, I'm more than prepared to believe this.

But I sure do feel paranoid

Candace: As far as 9/11 goes, I'm not sure what to think. We'll probably never know. I can't make any specific accusations (that Bush or Cheney was involved, or that the CIA and al Qaeda are working together, etc.). But I still think 9/11 was an inside job, to some extent. The official story just doesn't add up.

Erik: Interesting links. If you Google the name Wayne Madsen you'll come up with lots of the same information that Charles Higham has. I'm not sure how credible Madsen is. I did a post about 2 years ago based on one of his articles. He talked about the links between American corporations, Nazi Germany and the Bush family, and the links between Christian Fundamentalists, Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan.

Remember: just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't coming after you.

Quite true Tom Higham lays out how Rich Industrialist like Ford and Dupont Well known Anti-Semites (Ford used to publish an anti-semitic newspaper and Dupont was Jewish as were many of the others) Concerned that Roosevelts Labor Reforms (y'know like that Obscene 40 hour Work week idea and Unions) were ruining the Country. They also saw Jews and Communist were going to take over.

So they turned to an efficient Christian Society that hated Jews and Communist, Loved Industry and had no worker rights.

Nazi Germany whom in spite of the Socialist in their name was anything but. The Right Wing Christians (which includes the Klan) also fell in because of the Jew/Communist thing.

They were really allied with Himmler as Hitler was seen as too much of an Idealist. But they needed Hitler because he motivated the people. Himmler's views were more of the Industrialist Capitalist Utopia. Legitimate sources often talked about how Himmler's SS had more power then the Armed Forces, the pick of the men etc., and how even Hitler avoided Himmler.

This group thought the Nazi way the best way for the rest of the world

So while we were Allied with the Soviet Union these Industrialist did all they could to make sure that promised American Supplies never made it there.

What was eventually to happen at wars end, Hitler was to be overthrown and Himmler was to take over. The Industrialist had Himmlers Guarentee that Industry would be left alone with a German win (as they were in Germany). The Industrialist promised that if Britain fell they would pressure Roosevelt to sue for Peace which would leave the US alone, or they would still keep the Status Quo should there be an Invasion.

Everyone should read this book as it is not a Conspiracy Theory.

Now who killed JFK?

Erik: Yup, that's pretty much what Wayne Madsen says also. From the 1930s onward, Big Business, "Christian" leaders, Nazis and KKKers were all pretty much in bed together.

About Kennedy: Mohammed what's-his-name (that big swarthy bogeyman who was all over the news a few weeks ago) killed Kennedy. I think that was one of his numerous confessions while he was being waterboarded. And Martin Luther King and Abe Lincoln and...

We do live in a dichotomy

Bush and the terrorists need each other, though I suspect BushCo realizes this more than the "terrorists" do.

While I do not believe that there is a supreme puppet mater behind the scenes pulling all the strings, I do believe there are groups of people and corporations that work in concert to further their agenda such as PNAC and the AEI.

I know many find a lot of it hard to swallow but the fact remains that Al Qaeda and The Taliban are our babies. Be bore them in the early 80's and encouraged them in their fight against the USSR.

It's true that Unocal offered the taliban big money for the right to build a pipeline, we offered them a carpet of gold or a carpet of bombs, their choice. And Karzi is an ex-Unocal exec though he does look good with his traditional hat and cape (his previous attire was armani suits and wing tip shoes)

Some facts cannot be overlooked.

Iraq has a lot of oil. Saddam was selling contracts to Russia, France, and Germany...the same countries that opposed our invasion in the first place.

And now that the invasion/occupation is said and done guess who gets the oil? Exxon, Chevron, BP, and Shell...(2) American Companies and (2) UK companies.

The hardcore believers say this was just all part of securing America's future energy needs. After all, we are now competing with China and India for oil hence the astronomical rise in the price of oil with very little supply problem. If there was a supply problem Oil Co's would not be making record profit...they would have less product to sell.

Fact: OilCo's keep turning in record profits year after year after year pointing to the fact that there is no real supply problem currently. They are simply taking advantage of circumstances.

People need to ask themselves some basic questions and try to obtain some real answers.

Like, why are we staying in Iraq? There's no WMD, Saddam is dead, and Al Qaeda will be mopped up by the locals as soon as we leave. So why stay? To protect our oil interests. It's that simple.

Some people are ok with that. But I'm not. I find it appaling that we'll send our troops off to die and break our treasury just to allow 4 corporations to profit.

We are never going to enjoy cheap oil and gas. These piggy corporations will rob us blind.

If gas was $1 a gallon right now due to the massive flow of Iraqi oil, if the Iraqi oil was paying for the reconstruction as Wolfowitz said it would, then one could make the case that it is in America's best interest to keep troops there.

But it's just not the case.

PoliShifter: Good comment. I agree, there probably isn't a single person or group that's running everything. A lot of powerful groups are pulling strings behind the scenes. They each have their own agendas, but the end result is that most of the public is duped. The reality is a lot different than how it looks on the surface.

Yup, the Taliban, al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein are our own personal "monsters" that we created. Each one served a specific purpose and then turned on us (or vice versa).

Yes, it's appalling that our Treasury is draining and soldiers keep dying just to keep four corporations wealthy. But government spinmeisters keep spinning it in a way that makes it seem OK to millions of gullible voters.

Well said, Benjamin - if you get any group of professionals into a room, you have a conspiracy against the wider public.
Conspiracies are not something to believe in but to examine.
If you want to know how almost ALL world leaders think about 'their' people, keep one image fixed firmly in your mind -
"Vermin in their warrens." Then it all begins to make sense. It's hard for most normal, relatively compassionate people to realise how ruthless these power mongers are.
And yes, 9/!! was the Reichstag - but remember, it didn't change the world - just made people more compliant and more easily led by the nose into a place of fear.
Fear is how you rule - even in 'democracies'. All it takes is a few lies and the terrified people will let you do whatever it takes to cement your position of rulership in concrete.
There is no 'left' or 'right' - the eagle needs two wings to fly. Unfortunately an eagle is a scavenger that preys on the defenceless and dead and never takes on anything its own size.
You know them by their fruits.
Conspiracies don't have to be directly connected on a global scale - but whether you believe it likely or not, all the main players ARE members of a few interlinked cabals whose self-assigned job it is to lord it over the rest of us.
Citizens have one real choice - to OPT OUT of the system and create alternative ones. Stop feeding the beast by buying its crap and buying into its sick idea of 'healthy normality'.
You don't have to be a hippie - but that's a lot preferable to being a consumer (ie a sucker).

New Illuminati: "Vermin in their warrens" -- yup, that's us. 9/11 (like the Reichstag fire) sure made it a lot easier to lead Americans around by their nose-rings. "A few interlinked cabals" instead of a single large conspiracy -- that's my take too; that seems to be a concensus here.

And it's true that people could opt out if they wanted to. It doesn't have to mean dropping out of society or being a hippie, just an awareness that every dollar you spend is enriching somebody. We all need to make sure our money goes to those people/groups/companies whom we agree with, whenever it's possible.

Those are interesting links.
