Bush: "War in Iraq Worth the Price"

Yup, Bush really said that. The Iraqi war has been worth the billions of dollars, the tens of thousands of deaths. Easy for him to say. As long as somebody else supplies the money and the bodies, this war is well worth it.

It’s an excellent investment, as long as you’re investing somebody else’s sons and daughters.

What the hell has Bush ever sacrificed? Nobody even remotely related to Bush (or Cheney or Rove or Wolfowitz) is serving in the military. Bush and his corporate donors aren’t paying for the war. Between the endless tax cuts and the “offshoring” of more and more corporate headquarters to Bermuda or the Cayman Islands, the cost of the Iraqi war is falling on those chumps who work for a living.

Our Great Leader is willing to fight to the last drop of somebody else’s blood.

At Camp David, he said “I keep reminding the American people that the stakes are worth it. It is worth it to help Iraq succeed. It is worth it to have a democracy in the Middle East.”

It’s like when a CEO lays off thousands of employees — but keeps his own 7-figure salary and bonus package — and talks about “the difficult sacrifices we all have to make.”

Where’s the outrage?

Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid said that Americans “deserve a plan from the president, one that provides our troops with an exit strategy from this seemingly intractable conflict. It is no longer sufficient to say 'we will stand down as the Iraqis stand up.'”

n the year before he succumb to cancer, Col. Hackworth. a gung-ho marine from the Nam era, was barred from the media, because he wanted to bring to our attention his feedback from those serving in Iraq.
He had asked those serving to send him e-mail's expressing their views about life on the ground in Iraq. He received numerous horror stories of endangering troops, poor logistical tactics, an environment made more and more insecure and dangerous, fear, enormous stress, and confusion about the reasons for serving. A full two-thirds of the service personel (in a sample of about 2000 e-mails from way back in late 2003 to mid 2004) wanted us out in less than a year.
This information, like hundred's of other stories that question the lunacy of this war, was suppressed by the corporate neo-con mass media.

If you and your friend and realtives want a more reasonable approach to this war-with a comprehensive exit strategy that will get us out safely, with honor, and will not lead to a civil war-go to my blog:sevenpointman

Bejamin Ferencz-Chief Prosecutor at the Nuremburg Trials, Tom Hayden, Tony Benn, Matthew Rothschild, Reggie Rivers, Bishop Gumbleton, Ken Livingstone-Mayor or London, and Danny Schecter.

Most people want us out as soon as possible.
I have the way to do it.

Sevenpointman: These stories all sound quite believable. There's been so much censorship by the corporate "media" that we can't trust our "watchdog" any more. But these stories fit right in with other news items I've heard and read.

Interesting plan on your blog. I didn't comment but this sounds like a workable plan.

He also said Iraq’s neighbors should be doing more to help. who would that be Iran whom we have threatened or Syria who we labeled part of the axis of evil. We are in Afghanistan so they are out of the question.

That leaves Turkey who barely lets us use their airbases, Kuwait who cant defend themselves, and Saudia Arabia. Our good friends the Saudis arent pulling their weight? Hard to believe because "the decider" keeps saying they are a close ally of the US in the war on terror.

BTW check out the poll. Is the war worth it? Survey says.....

I got your outrage right here buddy!

While you suggest that the President has made little in the way of sacrifice, I beg to differ. I mean, did he not forego the opportunity to attend a few fundraisers today for the sole purpose of altruistically visiting the troops in Iraq?

Quite possibly he even missed a nap (details are sketchy.)

James: Hey, I like those poll results (I voted too). Glad you're feeling the outrage too.

And we're asking Iraq's neighbors for help??? That's kind of like the Crips asking South Central LA residents for their help so they can kill more Bloods, and then wondering why they get hostile responses.

Rex Kramer: OK, now that you've put it that way, I see it differently. GWB missed several fundraisers and a nap, just for an altruistic visit to our troops in Iraq??? What a guy! No doubt the troops are grateful.
