Still More Lies from Bush

Christ, it never ends. Has this sleazebag EVER said anything that was truthful?

On May 29, 2003 — two and a half months into the Iraqi invasion — Bush announced that “we’ve found the Weapons of Mass Destruction!!” Two trailers had been captured by U.S. and Kurdish forces, and these trailers were biological laboratories. WMD! We’ve been vindicated!

For months afterward, the Bush Administration was crowing about the WMD that had been found, and the biological warfare that had been thwarted.

However, a Pentagon fact-finding mission had already concluded that these trailers were not biological laboratories and had nothing to do with Weapons of Mass Destruction. The leaders of the Pentagon mission had transmitted their report to Washington on May 27, 2003 — two days before Bush made his famous WMD announcement.

BUSTED!! Lying sack of shit. Again.

By now, Bush has been caught in so many lies, it has kind of a numbing effect to hear about yet another one. Downing Street Memos, Hussein buying uranium from Niger, “I’ll fire anyone in my administration who leaked that CIA agent’s name,” “a wiretap requires a court order; nothing has changed.” Etc.

What will it take for the “Family Values” conservatives to finally get disgusted with this sleazy pisspoor excuse for a president?

Jolly Roger: Great post. I just left a comment. Glad Colin Powell is seeing through the bullshit of his "superiors." Hope he can survive the Swiftboating that's sure to follow.

I only recently discovered your blog, but I think it's great.

And I agree with you, Bush is nothing but a total liar.

Everyone knows this bozo is a few bricks shy..and Krazy Karl is the puppetmaster.

Why can't you Anti-Bush people get it through your thick skulls that no matter how hard you try you can't call a person a liar for being wrong. Saddam was very good at hiding his true intentions from the world for decades (after all he sought to hide two dozen jets in the sand). Just give up your little assualts on President Bush and we all would be much better off.

Yes, and after all that, I still know someone who says we should respect Bush and not speak ill of him --
simply because he's president!

As long as there are wealthy, tax-paying citizens who continue to think like that, Bush will keep doin' what he's doin'. It's criminal!

The Bush Administration does not give a damn about telling lies. They will say and do anything to further their adgenda of American global dominance. The lies are just part of the "end justifies the means" methods they have used to shred the Constitution and wage an illegal war. Bush and his neocon puppetmasters are only uncomfortable when they are caught and then they lie about the lies!

Dostoy: Thanks. Yeah, Bush lies so much, he wouldn't know the truth if it bit him on the ass.

Dusty: Yup, Krazy Karl is definitely pulling Bush's strings. Somebody's probably pulling Karl's strings, for that matter. But Bush isn't running things; he's pretty much just a PR hack. He's just one notch above Scott McClellan.

Jon: Hey, I've been discovered. One of our favorite trolls at Bring It On! has now discovered Little Ol' Me. Aww, shucks. "Our little assaults on President Bush" -- well, that'll happen when a president tries to become an all-powerful unaccountable dictator. He lies, and he tries to squish any disagreement within his cabinet. Look at all the tell-all books written by former cabinet members. These books weren't written because the authors disagreed with Bush's politics. And don't even get me started on these "limited government" conservatives who are in favor of the Patriot Act and our multi-billion dollar deficit. Go ahead and be a Good German if you want; true patriots are the ones staging these "little assaults" on Bush. I don't care if the President shares my political views or not. I just want somebody trustworthy in the White House.

Anonymous: Yeah, it's surprising how many people think we should "rally around the president" no matter what. If they used that reasoning in the late 1700s, we'd still be a British colony.

Kitchen Window Woman: Yup, that's Bush. He lies about the lies about the lies. During Watergate, the LA Times had a cartoon called "The Watergate Archipelago." The first island was called Watergate, the next island was the coverup, the next one was the coverup to cover up the coverup, etc. I think that applies to Bush even more than Nixon.

The article shows clearly that the Bush White House knew what they were saying two days before Bush first publicly said it. Ergo, since Bush knows what's going on in his own White House, he is a proven liar. Or if he doesn't know what's going on in his own White House, especially about issues of war, he is criminally incompetent. He should be impeached for either.

Jon, you're just furthering the stereotype that Nascar fans have no business involving themselves with intellectual political debates.

Brad: Yeah, Bush knew exactly what he was doing. There's no way he was misinformed or misled. Or, like you say, if he's that incompetent, then that's a separate reason for impeachment.

there's still people out there trying to say Bush hasn't lied?

oh, well. at least he didn't bring up Clinton's penis. yet.

or (this is my favorite) "get over it, Bush won!"

Mike V.: Yeah, I guess Bush's apologists just won't admit we've got a lemon in the White House. After a point you just can't keep rationalizing each "mistake" that Bush has made.

I remember reading that Bush could publicly rip the heads off babies and the wingnuts would still love him-- and I am beginning to believe it! I still cannot believe that this man hasn't been impeached

L: Yeah, that hardcore 30% will keep supporting him no matter what. Somebody wrote that if Bush strangled a baby right in front of everybody, his supporters would say he was trying the Heimlich Maneuver and it didn't work.

Guys,

Not all of us conservatives are blind. I voted for Bush and supported the war in Iraq,...Until it became apparent we were in there on false information.

The only problem is we are now so deep into this mess, we cannot simply "pull-out" without making it even worse. Nope, we're stuck with this war until we can find some "graceful" way out which also prevents us from having another Iran or Syria on our hands

Andy G.: I'm sure conservatives can see as well as anyone else. I'm glad you agree that we're now stuck in this Iraqi mess. I don't claim to have a solution, whether it's pulling out immediately, or pulling out under a strict timetable, or staying... But we need to learn from this: that our government sometimes deceives us (I'm sure they all do) and that invading another country pre-emptively is not a good idea, no matter how easy or clear-cut it seems.
